Young Accountant

Establishing a Financial Function for an IT Startup in Europe

   -  lead by Margarita Kholina 

In this project, the task was to build a financial function from scratch for a rapidly growing IT startup operating in the European market, with sales spanning 11 countries. The comprehensive set of implemented activities included the following steps:

 

- Financial Modeling: Developed detailed financial models to forecast revenues, expenses, and assess business profitability.

- Organization of Accounting Function: Successfully implemented accounting processes in Estonia, Latvia, Poland, and Finland, ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping.

- Financial Management and Cash Management: Introduced financial management and cash management systems, optimizing cash flows and improving the company's liquidity.

- Tax Planning: Developed and executed effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with legal requirements in various countries.

- Project Evaluation: Conducted comprehensive evaluations of investment projects to determine their economic efficiency and strategic significance.

 

These activities established a robust financial infrastructure that supports the company's growth and development on an international level.

Launch of a Parcel Delivery Logistics Operator

 -  lead by Artem Kholin 

In this project, the objective was to leverage the existing retail store network infrastructure for launching a parcel delivery logistics operator. Artem Kholin was responsible for logistics and operations within the company. The project included the following key initiatives:

 

-  Sorting Center Launch: Established a sorting center with HUB-2, SAT-15, and xDock-4 facilities, enhancing the efficiency and speed of parcel sorting and distribution.

Service Integration: Successfully integrated the operator's service with the retail network, encompassing over 13,000 stores, to streamline operations and improve service delivery.

Capacity Management: Ensured the throughput capacity of the logistics infrastructure and pickup points, facilitating smooth and timely delivery of parcels.

 

These efforts resulted in the successful launch and operational efficiency of the logistics operator, utilizing the extensive retail network to provide robust parcel delivery services.

Drone Delivery

 Development and Launch of a Cross-Border Logistics Platform for International Sellers

In this project, the objective was to develop and launch a cross-border logistics platform tailored for international sellers. Artem Kholin designed the business concept and successfully executed its implementation. The project encompassed the following key initiatives:

 

- Business Concept Development: Crafted a comprehensive business concept for the cross-border logistics platform, ensuring it met the needs of international sellers.

- End-to-End Product Management: Led the product management for end-to-end cross-border operations, ensuring seamless integration and efficient handling of logistics processes.

- Legal and Tax Framework: Conducted thorough analysis and preparation of the legal and tax framework necessary for the project's execution, ensuring compliance with international regulations.

 

These efforts culminated in the successful launch of the cross-border logistics platform, providing international sellers with a robust and compliant solution for their logistics needs.

Meeting Room Business

Implementation of SAP ERP in the Shared Services Center

In 2019, Margarita Kholina, as the CFO, led the project for implementing SAP ERP in the Share Service Center. The template scope included the following functional blocks:  production, planning and budgeting, treasury, controlling, sales, procurement, investment project management, contract management, accounting and tax accounting.

 

The project was structured into four phases and seven stages (preparation, detailed design, configuration and development, testing, training, go-live preparation and launch, support of industrial operation). The project duration was one year.

 

The implementation unified seven regional SSC offices and integrated the company into the overall holding structure. The project was launched successfully, meeting all KPIs for timelines, budget, and quality assessment. The project also resulted in 44 organizational changes within the company.

 

Results Achieved:

- Enhanced Efficiency: Streamlined processes across all functional blocks, reducing manual work and increasing productivity.

- Improved Data Accuracy: Centralized data management leading to more accurate and reliable financial and operational data.

- Better Financial Control: Enhanced planning, budgeting, and controlling functions allowing for more effective financial management.

- Increased Transparency: Improved visibility into operations and finances across the organization, facilitating better decision-making.

- Cost Savings: Optimized resource allocation and procurement processes resulting in significant cost savings.

- Scalability: Established a scalable platform to support future growth and expansion of the company.

 

These achievements have significantly improved the overall operational efficiency and strategic capabilities of the company.
